Five Things To Remember On June 7

1. A new booklet on “The Blessing of the Child in the Womb” co-authored by the vice president and associate general secretary of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is now available from Our Sunday Visitor Publishing. “The Gift of Joy,” by Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, and Msgr. J. Brian Bransfield, a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, explains the vocation of Christian mothers and fathers and how it relates to parish life and society as a whole.

2. Pope Francis isn't one for scripts and he scrapped a speech he was going to give to young people in favor of a question and answer session. The kids asked him if he wanted to become Pope and why he's not living in the apostolic palace.

3. Today, for Catholics, is the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and this Catholic News Service video interview with American Cardinal Raymond Burke, who serves as the Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura in Rome.

4. Archbishop William E. Lori, chairman of the USCCB's Ad Hoc Committee For Religious Liberty, will kick off the Fortnight for Freedom in two weeks. In an interview with Baltimore's Catholic Review, he says the fight for religious liberty has just begun.

5. God loves you.
