Five Things To Remember On Oct. 1

1. Pope Francis was once again interviewed, this time by a non-believer from the Italian newspaper La Repubblica. Discussing right and wrong, the Pope said, "The world is crisscrossed by roads that come closer together and move apart, but the important thing is that they lead towards the Good."

2. Catholic News Service reports: "As a series of consultations aimed at the reform of the Vatican bureaucracy began, Pope Francis told his group of cardinal advisers that humility and service attract people to the church, not power and pride."

3. Father John Crossin says not speaking, but listening, is the key element is dialogue . Listening shows respect. If we listen intently we learn. See more in one of our latest videos.

4. "What does it mean to open our hearts to life? It means to search our souls and acknowledge our deepest longing for Christ's love. Though we are capable of sins against human life such as abortion, assisted suicide and euthanasia, we are not beyond Christ's mercy. It is important for us to know and share with others that Christ's forgiveness is offered even to those who have taken another person's life, if they are truly repentant of that act." - Cardinal Seán O'Malley in his statement to start Respect Life Month.

5. God loves you.
